T-1 Days: Long Valley, NJ

Sitting at our kitchen table, it's 2200... Rosie's paying a couple of bills and I'm blogging this one last time before the start of our trip a short, 7 1/2 hrs from now.

Man, it's been a hectic day for both of us.  Let me back up a bit....

Meg had stayed overnight with us, a nice by-product of dropping her car off here while she and Mike jet off to Aruba for the week while we're in Cali.  It's great to have her around but, like all of us now-a-days, she had a lot of work to tie out on and all 3 of us spent most of the evening staring at our laptops!  Sad, I know.

We all got up early.  Rose and Meg departed for Morristown and I went out for a 5 1/2 mile bike ride before starting my day.  That day was spent putting out fires, tons of admin, handful of calls and, coordinating all of my coverage while I'm away.  At 1530 I headed out for my 2nd session of physical therapy on my right shoulder (slight torn rotator cuff that's been bugging me) in Morristown at Atlantic Health Rehabilitation Institute.  They're pretty good there.  Got home around 1800 and had to jump back into work for a few hours to tie up more loose ends.  In between digging through my Outlook inbox and packing, finished up at approximately 2100.  Just trying to relax and chill for awhile before hitting the rack for a early start tomorrow morning.

Terry's Taxi will be here to pick us up at 0530 for the $75 cash ride to Newark's Liberty International Airport and our flight out to San Francisco at ~0823.  Regardless of whether I get to blog in a timely fashion, I plan on keeping a written journal of the trip to jar my memory when I do blog.

Later!

T-4 Days: Long Valley, NJ

Only 4 days and a wake-up before we leave Long Valley via Terry's Taxi for Newark's Liberty International Airport, in order to slip the surly bonds of earth and wing our way West to San Francisco!  Conor will rendezvous with us at the airport and our adventure will begin on Friday, 6/29.  Rosie and I are really looking forward to seeing our son and spending the entire time away traveling down Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) on a 'Road Trip'!
